GPS Watches

There are basically two types of GPS watch:
1. GPS sports watches, which allow precise analysis of the race or activity (e.g. cycling, skiing, sailing, mountaineering, etc.).
2. so-called GPS Worldtimer watches, which calibrate the exact time using a GPS satellite signal throughout the world and independently of radio signal transmission antennas.

GPS sports watches are particularly interesting for people who want to measure time, distance travelled or altitude. Additional options open up a host of other possibilities, so the GPS watch can be used to some extent as a coach. The distance covered can always be measured with the watch, whether during training or in everyday life. Many manufacturers, such as Garmin, offer GPS watches specially adapted to a wide range of sports, including sailing, golf, hiking, mountaineering and winter sports. The main distinguishing feature of these watches is the wide range of functions, modes and installed programmes. Modern watches not only measure distance, but also, depending on the model, calorie consumption, heart rate or pulse.
