I am very happy with the purchase of this watch. I previously had a model that was 10mm high. This watch is 7mm high and has the advantage that you no longer get caught when putting on your jacket!!

I had the opportunity to see AIKON models in real life and I always wanted to have one, because of one of its major assets: its steel bracelet with incredible style and finishes. I've been wearing it for two weeks now and I'm really not disappointed! the “feeling” on the wrist is worthy of what one could find in brands costing several hundred thousand francs. Let's deconstruct the watch into several pieces: First, I would like to point out that I acquired the set with two bracelets, the inimitable steel one and a welcome rubber one when you want to lighten the weight of the watch. Let's talk about the "Easy strap" system which allows you to change straps in an instant without tools, well if it is a little less pleasant for us gentlemen with our big fingers, with a little practice changing becomes child's play and I find myself doing it several times a day depending on my mood. The quality of the steel bracelet is one of the great qualities of the watch, in brushed stainless steel, its mirror finishes on the edges and its luxurious mesh make it a must-have on all AIKON models. If you are hesitant I can only recommend the steel bracelet, or better yet the set with steel and rubber even if the latter, due to its material, does not have such a beautiful image of quality, it remains very pleasant for a lightweight timepiece feel. Let's move on to the dial, sunray black, with round and rectangular indexes with a trapezoid at 12 o'clock, it will appear almost bluish by the reflections of the sapphire crystal, itself flat and very well made since it will not retain many fingerprints. .. The date window is well finished with chiseled and chrome-plated edges like the indexes. If we, watch enthusiasts, are used to the GMT dials of a certain Geneva brand at the crown, here Maurice Lacroix has managed - through numerous details in the design - to remain classic without being a pale copy and the DNA of the AIKON is clearly present on this dial. For the case, several details set this Venturer GMT apart from other AIKONs, first of all the most obvious, the essential 24-hour glasses which take up the 6 iconic reliefs of the range, but which, between these reliefs offers us white indicators in a ceramic shiny black with the most beautiful effect, this checkerboard really gives all its personality to the Venturer, we only regret that this part is the one which marks the most fingerprints of the watch. The one-way click is good, clear and crisp; the play is minimal and the machining on the outside of the bezel provides good grip. Another more discreet difference than the other AIKONs is the black targeted crown - to recall the checkerboard pattern of the bezel - and its small protective "ramp", once again very well finished, in brushed and polished steel, to remind us that this watch is indeed a capable diver, since it is water resistant to 300m. The Maurice Lacroix ML 165 movement is based on the solid Sellita SW330 and promises very good reliability, which I had the opportunity to have verified by a small independent watchmaker at -4 sec / day, i.e. within the criterion of acceptance of the COSC standard (Chronometer Certification). The only fault I find with it, if I'm being picky, is the time passage of the GMT hand which is not as clear as one might hope. In summary, a watch with exceptional finishes at this price, worthy of models costing several thousand francs, a 100% successful look, a must-have steel bracelet for this price range and incredible reliability. Don't look for another GMT in this price range, the Maurice Lacroix AIKON Venturer GMT is what you need.
