After a long search, I have finally found an automatic watch that suits me. This simply beautiful Certina watch is fantastic! In reality, it is even more beautiful than in the pictures on the internet! The workmanship is impeccable, the watch is extremely high quality! It goes perfectly with a suit, as well as with a casual look. I think that is just great. The design of the light dial is also a real eye-catcher and the glass display case back is the absolute best! I am super excited about the DS 1, I would buy it again immediately!

Sensible diving watch, not too big, in the typical 1990s design: Citizen has kept the NY0040 series in its range unchanged since 1997. Dial dark blue, slightly greyish, with a sunburst finish that looks particularly beautiful in the sun. Good amount of luminous material that glows green (hands) and blue-green (dial) at night and lasts quite a long time. Date and day display in English and German. Glass is hardened mineral glass, and is actually slightly protected from scratches by the bezel. The 60-click bezel itself is easy to turn, precise and does not wobble at all. The crown position at 8 o'clock takes a little getting used to for right-handed people, but is very comfortable to wear. The tried and tested Citizen / Miyota 8203 automatic caliber runs amazingly precisely (about +5 seconds / day), can be wound by hand, but has no stop-seconds function. The PU rubber strap is a bit stiff and not particularly comfortable. With a width of 20mm, there are a number of ways to replace it, including aftermarket metal bracelets designed specifically for this watch. Thicker 2.5mm spring bars (so-called "fat bars") can also be used if necessary. By the way: if you don't like the "ND Limits" table printed on the bracelet, you can simply remove it with methylated spirits and a cotton swab. Conclusion: for the price, a solid everyday watch with plenty of "old school" charm.
