Where should one begin with this watch... First of all, it should be mentioned that the photos on the internet do not do the wealth of detail and quality justice. The watch is made to a very high standard, which is also reflected in the weight. The details in the dial give the watch a very special look. Modern, simple but still classy. I deliberately chose the black version because I can combine it more easily with other accessories and clothes. In addition to the steel strap, you can also buy a leather strap and change it yourself very easily and without tools. This function makes the watch extremely flexible and can therefore be worn for almost all activities. I can only recommend this watch!

First of all... this watch is actually far too beautiful to wear ;-) For a Marc Marquez fan, this watch is an absolute must!!! I had barely ordered it and the goods were already delivered. Beautifully packaged in a small motorcycle helmet, the watch appears when you open the helmet. The rubber strap means it sits perfectly on the wrist and, thanks to its relatively small case, it doesn't look too bulky, so it's not as bulky as an automatic T-Race Edition. I won't give this watch away and it's worth every single cent!!!

The requirements were very simple. No. 1: No battery, so automatic movement or solar operation. No. 2: Reception of the signal from the time signal transmitter, which rules out the automatic movement option for No. 1 and reduces the choice to solar operation. The third and final requirement No. 3: Sapphire glass, because ultimately you want to use a watch for a long time and the robustness of this material helps immensely to keep the dial looking flawless over the years. These are not many requirements and each one is not uncommon, but all three together restrict the choice quite considerably. The fourth requirement, which I will not mention because it is so obvious, is that the watch must also be visually appealing. The Citizen meets all four requirements, the first three simply in fact and the subjective fourth due to the great design. The time zone can be changed quickly, so even frequent travelers will enjoy the watch. There is no separate display for a second time zone, which I personally think is completely superfluous. No, not just superfluous, I find it rather annoying. So here is another positive point that speaks for this timepiece. All time zones can be called up quickly, there is no second display that could interfere with readability. The readability is also great at night, thanks to the well-luminescent digits and hands. Where there is light, there is also shadow. So they say and that is also the case with this Citizen Promaster. The leather strap is quite stiff, which initially leads to the watch being in a somewhat unusual position and making it feel strange to wear. However, this goes away after a short period of wear and is only mentioned here for the sake of completeness. A small negative point is the screw crown, which has to be unscrewed and pulled out to the first notch to adjust the time zone. In purely visual terms, the crown itself is already a bit dominant, which is even more noticeable when you unscrew it. The somewhat clunky crown sits on a very delicate axis and the otherwise beyond-doubt quality makes a small mistake as it then feels wobbly and not very robust. However, this will only bother users who often change time zones. All in all, I am delighted with the watch and also have the feeling that I have bought a decent, long-lasting product for the (not exactly small) money I invested.

First of all, I would like to mention a wonderful detail that is unfortunately missing from the description. Maurice Lacroix has equipped the watch strap with integrated quick-change spring bars. The pins on the spring bar make it easy to change the watch strap without any additional tools and in just a few seconds. You just have to press the pins inwards and then you can remove the strap from the watch. The decision between a leather and a stainless steel strap was not easy for me. I prefer the stainless steel strap in the office with a shirt, but I prefer leather in my free time. That's why I think these systems for quickly changing at home are fantastic. As for the watch itself, I am still convinced that I bought the right one. When I first saw the Aikon on the Internet, I wasn't sure whether it was the right one for my extremely narrow wrist (17.5 cm circumference). In reality, however, it looks smaller than 42 mm in my opinion. Compared to my Tissot (also 42 mm), I would estimate it to be smaller. The diameter of the dial is 32 mm, the height of the watch is 11 mm. It also weighs 174 grams with the full strap. The stainless steel strap itself has whole and half parts. Two half parts together are a bit longer than one whole. This means it can be adjusted extremely well to the wrist, even my narrow one. The strap is held together with pins and has no screwed strap elements. I really like the special dial. If you look at the watch in the light, you can see the "waffle pattern" beautifully. If you turn the watch out of the light, the color changes from a light blue to a royal to dark blue and the "waffle pattern" slowly disappears. I think these characteristics should be seen in real life. In the pictures on the internet, these color changes on the dial are hardly noticeable. The indices and hands have been coated with luminous material and thus glow at night. The minute track was printed on a smooth background and not on the "waffle pattern" and is therefore easier to read. The Aikon is a design revision of the Calypso from the 90s. Maurice Lacroix has adopted the "claws" on the dial and the strap lugs for the Aikon, among other things. There is also a similarity in the design. The design of the Aikon also looks extremely similar to the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak. However, it is much cheaper. Personally, I like the Maurice Lacroix better and can definitely recommend it.
